Playable Prototype / Beta Reflection Blog

Playable Prototype / Beta Reflection Blog
For my VR Minecraft game that my team and I are creating, we started to work on level 3 and almost completed level 3. We helped each other make this huge statue which is a little easter egg for the game. We changed the game to have only 4 levels instead of 5 because of each level. I have made a trap that used the elder guardian by traveling in water for some items. I thought that was pretty fun. I also add a bunch of skeletons to kill you when you go down the hallway. Some of the challenges that I had was creating the traps. I had to make something new and unique. I always asked people for what is the best thing to do as a trap. I thought, now one would expect a boss enemy blocking the items that the player needs. I asked some friends and they gave me some ideas like a boss to fight before the main boss or making some enemies come out of nowhere and kill the player. Some successes would be making some unique traps in the game. I was able to make a trap that was based on the movie series Indiana Jones. With the help of my teammates, we were able to make the game just like Indiana Jones, with riddles! I was also able to make an easter egg with my group to make the game a little interesting.

When my group and I started to put our game in a playable alpha stage to see how the game went. Most of the responses from the people who played our game were regarding the player falling from the air into the ocean. To fix that, we added signs mentioning that they were teleported there on purpose that they have to die in the game to return back to the game. We also got feedback to change the stairs in the game to the next level because it is too nauseating for people when they are playing the game. We made the stairs user-friendly and very easy for the players to experience.

For the WHOLE game, I think I did pretty well. I started to add and talk about my ideas to help make the game more interesting. Some of the things that I made interesting was the teleports that make the game interesting. I also added some traps that were new. I was even able to use the VR to test out the game and how it is so far. I think I did very well for the game and I hope I do when I finish it.

For this game, I am planning on finishing this game. After we make the traps, I will complete the area for the boss and hopefully, we can finish this game. I am planning on finishing this game with the last boss.
